Mad Jack is in reality Winifrede Levering Bascombe, who, happily, has her name changed very quickly in the story. She arrives in London with the aunts, Mathilda and Maude, of Lord Cliffe, Grayson St. Cyre, to beg his assistance. He welcomes the aunts, briefly spots the valet, Jack, and proceeds very quickly after their arrival to fall down the rabbit hole. He catches the valet, Jack, stealing his horse, Durban, chases Jack down, and then all sorts of interesting things happen. Enter Sinjun with her frantic husband, Colin, on her trail….C.C.

A review - The one thing that I was having trouble with, was how Gray was either related or knew the Sherbrooke brothers. It was not quite clear to begin with, but as I read, there were stories shared that gave me a little clue as to how he fit in with the Douglas, Ryder, and Tysen. Gray is basically a friend to all of them through first knowing Ryder. When Ryder helped him protect an abused woman, since Ryder protects abused and abandoned children, he also helps women in similar situations.

There was a big plot twist that I did not see coming, but was a delightful treat to figure out with Gray and Jack. I won’t spoil it here, you’ll just have to read it for yourself.
